“End of the world” is confused “with end of the age”

When the bible speaks of “end of the world” or “ends of the world”, it refers to location.

Psalm 19:4 Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.

Psalm 22:27 All the ends of the world Shall remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations Shall worship before You.

The end of an era, which is confused as the end of the world, is the end of the age. This age.

Matthew 13:39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.

The point of this discussion is: A person can be accurate in what the bible says by checking directly from the bible himself what others say on a subject and not relying on what they say that subject is.

The bible also talks about the “end of the earth” and “ends of the earth”. Again, these phrases refer to location.

Deuteronomy 13:7 of the gods of the people which are all around you, near to you or far off from you, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth,

Job 28:24 For He looks to the ends of the earth, And sees under the whole heavens,

This earth will do end…

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

…and replaced with a new one.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.

There is no worry for man when this earth burns up. Man by that time shall already have been turned to spirit, untouchable by fire. Instead of going to heaven as many misread the bible, the spirit turned man will be in the new earth to where God will likewise move from heaven.

Revelation 21:1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. The “end of the ages” when man is physical ushers in a completely different age when as spirit man finally dwells with God in the new earth. The physical sufferings of physical man shall “have passed away”.

Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

As the “End of the world” is confused “with end of the age”, both lead to the concern with the end of man.

Neither the “end of the age” nor the end of this earth should be a concern for man. An age of man goes but another comes.

This earth will pass away but man continues to live on.

Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads. 5 There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.

rijel: The only accurate description that John can utter was “new heaven” and “new earth”. Very simple terms because what he saw in his vision is beyond description.

Many Christians including me, use the term “heaven” because it is the perfect word to describe this wonderful place.

EMA: John describes the new Jerusalem in the new earth in detail. There is no basis in saying that what was shown John “is beyond description”. He did it.

There really is a problem when what the bible clearly says as the new earth people would still insist that it is heaven.

rijel: Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Abraham, the thief on the cross, where are they now?

EMA: They’re still ashes on this earth. “Asleep”. Hebrews 11 enumerates the men of faith who have since died not having received the promises.

Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

It is only at Christ’s return when “Enoch, Elijah, Moses, Abraham” and the rest of those called out ones in this age when they rise from their graves to meet Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.

The bible is clear that these men of faith are not in heaven. They will not be made perfect apart from the others called out in this age.

Hebrews 11:39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise, 40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us.

rijel: During rapture, where will be going to?

EMA: Please describe your “rapture” so I can comment responsively.

rijel: I believed in “Heaven” in “Paradise” in the “Kingdom of God”. Many terms to describe it.

EMA: Incidentally, the Paradise of God is the place in the new Jerusalem on the earth, not heaven, where the tree of life will be.

Revelation 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”’

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

rijel: the bible, writer’s and prophets has a various description and almost always you can find the term “heaven”.

EMA: There is no question that “heaven” is mentioned in the bible. “Heaven” refers to the sky, the space in the universe including the heavenly bodies, and God’s throne “on the farthest sides of the north”.

rijel: Heb 12:22-23, “But you have come to Mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven.”

EMA: Before the new city Jerusalem is moved to the new earth, it is in heaven. But man will not go to heaven to be in the new city. It will be moved out from heaven and down to the new earth before man gets to the city.

rijel: So the point that I am making here is we should not be too critical on certain terms in the Bible. After all we too are not completely comprehend the certainty of its meaning as the writer puts it. Meanings can’t be always literal most often symbolic, in parable and mystery as well.

EMA: This topic is to make clear what people just assume to be accurate from what they hear others say. It is wise for one to read himself from the bible what he hears others say to him.

rijel: I believed God will not take it against us if we understand “heaven” or “end of the world” differently to what He meant it to be. After all our understanding is finite.

EMA: It’s one’s choice if he wants to stall growth in knowledge. But the bible encourages one to grow in knowledge.

2 Peter 3:18 but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, Jesus’ words. John merely wrote what was shown him in a vision.

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

EMA: The spirit indwelt person is practically a “new man”. Being so, he should strive to act like one.

Ephesians 4:20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

That person should grow in knowledge so that he will be able to “speak truth with his neighbor”. If the bible says “new earth”, he should not say it is heaven. When the bible says the soul is mortal that it shall die when it sins, one should not say the soul is immortal. When the bible says the dead “knows nothing”, one should not say his body is dead but his soul is alive. And so on.

Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,”for we are members of one another.

That person should not “grieve the Holy Spirit of God” in him which is his seal “for the day of redemption”.

aljas: …your statement above is the very reason why men invented religion.They saw people dying and it scared the shitt the heck out of them. To neutralize their fear ,they invented a story about life after death and it’s a lot better . When the inventor realized people lined up to it , they start selling it and had become a multi-billion business nowadays.
