The “end” that “will come” is not the obliteration of this earth as the many might have heard from doomsayers but Christ’s return. Christ’s return ends this age but it also begins another.

In a private audience they sought with Jesus Christ, his disciples asked him questions relating to Christ’s return and the end of the age.

Matthew 24:3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”

Jesus’ answers begin with “Take heed that no one deceives you” (verse 4). He then enumerated the signs many of which have been occurring since then and will continue to occur until Christ’s return (verses 4-12).

Jesus continues by saying,

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Every Christian in these latter days must really understand what this “gospel of the kingdom” is to become a more effective part in its preaching to “all the nations” which will usher in Christ’s return.

What is this gospel or good news of the kingdom?

Since no one knows when Christ returns, Christians should be ever ready

The parable of the wise and foolish virgins emphasize the importance of being ready at all times.

Matthew 25:1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ 9 But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.

Having been given the Holy Spirit, not utilizing it in doing his preparation forfeits the Christian’s opportunity for eternal life.

Matthew 25:11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

To belong to the category of being wise and ready for the wedding ceremony, the Christian must be occupied in doing what the Christian must be doing till Christ’s return as explained in the thread “The ‘business’ the Christian must be doing”.

To preach “the gospel of the kingdom” the Christian must know what it is

“Gospel” is “good news”. But what is that good news of the kingdom which is to be preached to all nations?

Most, if not all, of the preaching I hear is on man’s salvation. “Jesus Saves”, is their focus. That Jesus died in man’s behalf so that man would not perish for his sin and is set free from the death sentence to live forever is good news for man.

Salvation of mankind is good news. To man. But man must realize and not forget that although Jesus’ death was planned to be made in case man sins, and man did sin, Jesus did not see it as “good news” when he was about to be abused and executed. God had to send an angel to strengthen Jesus who agonized at the thought of being tortured before he would be put to death.

Luke 22:41 And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” 43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. 44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

So if the Christian limits his focus only on the salvation process as good news, it is not really good news as a whole. In fact, when the Christian contemplates Jesus’ sufferings, he would feel sad for Jesus. To have real good news, the news should be good however one regards it.

The Christian must learn more beyond salvation to know the real good news, “the gospel of the kingdom”, so that he could preach it “in all the world as a witness to all the nations”.

Through parables, Jesus is revealing to Christians what the good news of the kingdom of God to be preached is

By speaking in parables, the mysteries of the kingdom are hidden to the world at large. To the disciples or students, Jesus explains what the parables convey.

Matthew 13:10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

As pictured in the parables, the kingdom of heaven is likened to:

1. a “man” sowing seeds and harvests (Matt. 13:24, 31);
2. growth (verse 33);
3. a treasure (verse 44), one of great price (verse 45);
4. catching fish (verse 47);
5. preparing for a wedding feast (Matt. 22:1; 25:1);
6. being employed to do business for gain with accounting (Matt. 25:14);
7. etc.

Through the parable of the wheat and tares, Jesus reveals to Christians what the good news of kingdom of God to be preached is

The parable of the wheat and tares show sowing, growth and harvest.

Matthew 13:24 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; 25 but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. 26 But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. 27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

The barn where the harvested Christians are put into is the kingdom of God. The Christians who enter the barn or kingdom shall have been changed to spirit as they “will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father”.

Matthew 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”
37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

The kingdom of God to be preached is a kingdom or class of beings composed of spirits. God and Jesus Christ now and later, men who are being made in God’s image according to God’s likeness.

As Paul says, “we shall be changed”.

1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Through the parable of the mustard seed and the leaven, Jesus reveals to Christians what the good news of kingdom of God to be preached is

The parable of the mustard seed illustrates the growth of the kingdom from being a small group of people which will grow in number – the Church. When the Church becomes “grown” as the kingdom of God, the rest of the people will benefit from its rule in the Day of the Lord.

Matthew 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, 32 which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”

The parable of the leaven likewise shows the small start of the kingdom which will then envelope the whole earth. The new earth, that is, when all the overcomers, and most will, shall have been changed to spirit.

Matthew 13:33 Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.”

Through the parable of the hidden treasure, Jesus reveals to Christians what the good news of kingdom of God to be preached is

The parable of the hidden treasure shows the new convert that being in the Church of God is treasure more than any other.

Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

So does the parable of the pearl of great price which shows the babe in Christ that having been put into his Church is like finding the best pearl of all there is.

Matthew 13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46 who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Through the parables of the sower and the dragnet, Jesus reveal to Christians what the good news of kingdom of God to be preached is

The parable of the sower shows that the preaching of the kingdom will be heard by 4 categories of hearers.

Matthew 13:3 Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: “Behold, a sower went out to sow. 4 And as he sowed, some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds came and devoured them. 5 Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth; and they immediately sprang up because they had no depth of earth. 6 But when the sun was up they were scorched, and because they had no root they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up and choked them. 8 But others fell on good ground and yielded a crop: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. 9 He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

The bible shows the explanation of this parable.

Matthew 13:18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.”

The parable of the dragnet shows that of those called to become part of the Church of God, those “who received seed on the good ground”, some will not be doing their part which make them undesirable for gathering into God’s vessels or barn. They’ve not done what a Christian should be doing. They will be slain while the overcomers will enter the kingdom of God.

Matthew 13:47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind, 48 which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away. 49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, 50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

(The parable of the wedding feast which emphasizes readiness at all times for the coming of the King of kings has been explained earlier. The parable of the mina or talents which illustrates the respective results of being diligent and of being neglectful in heeding Christ’s admonition to “do business” till he comes is expounded in the thread “The ‘business’ the Christian must be doing” http://forum.philboxing.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=186599 .)

The gospel of the kingdom of God is not salvation but creation

The spiritual phase of the process resumes God’s creation of man in his image according to his likeness. Salvation is only a part of the whole process of God’s creation. Salvation remedies the flaw caused by man’s wrong choice in the exercise of his freewill in the Garden of Eden.

Christ already died and removed the penalty of death for sin. All men sinned. And Christ has been raised from the dead which assured man’s not perishing after his death.

1 Corinthians 15:12 Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14 And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. 15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16 For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17 And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18 Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.

When a person is drawn by God to Jesus and positively responds to the call, that person is granted repentance and is baptized symbolizing the application of Christ’s sacrifice to him for the washing away of his sins. He is put in the position where his Godly image building process could proceed.

Every man will have his chance to salvation and creation process resumed. But not at the same time. Each according to God’s order.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

A good discussion with the 2008 PRMOers is in the thread “The Real Issue is Creation and not Salvation”.

While salvation is also gospel or good news, it is only a part of the gospel of the kingdom which must be preached in this end time to all nations before the end of this age comes.

The preaching of the gospel of the kingdom of God by the overcoming Christians

The gospel or good news that God has resumed the process of creating man in his image according to his likeness and for the overcomers to be changed to spirit to join God as part of his kingdom will be preached by Christians worldwide reaching all nations shortly before Christ comes.

The Christian who could effectively preach the gospel of the kingdom is one who understands what that gospel or good news of the kingdom to be preached is. And he is seriously engaged in doing his part in God’s transforming his mind from his worldly orientation to that mind of Christ, to that love image of God making him ready to be changed to spirit like God who is Spirit.

When the overcomers shall have been changed to spirit and become part of the kingdom, this world’s ills and mismanagement by its god will then be remedied. Then the rest of mankind will have its opportunity for their creation to resume and be likewise made in God’s image according to God’s likeness. The fully created overcomers, and most will be, will see and enter the kingdom of God.

The gospel of the kingdom of Godis not salvation but creation. “And this gospel of the kingdom…”

Matthew 24:14…will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

patutsky: It says,the Gospel will be preached…..it does not necessarily follow that the Gospel will be preached and accepted BY ALL MEN.
For as long as some parts of the Middle East prohibits the entry of the Bible and would even be mocked when Men encounter the worst of the Great Tribulation.

EMA: We’re in agreement in this aspect mang pat. To those whose creation is not to proceed in this age, the preaching is only “as a witness” unto them. But to those who have been called out and put into the body of Christ, there is significance in the coming of “the end”.

As pointed out, the end of this age is Christ’s coming and to the members comprising the Church, Christ’s coming is a grand wedding event. Christ is the groom and the Church is the bride. The Church, as a whole, will be ready at that time.

Revelation 19:6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Each individual Christian must be doing all the necessary preparations to be ready when that wedding event comes. While he does his vital part in preaching the good news of the kingdom “in all the world as a witness to all the nations” the Christian should ask himself regularly, “Will I be ready?”

don robert:  Mang Epi, happy new year.

When God promised to Noah that He will not “destroy the earth”, are you implying this only says about “floods”? I thought the promise “not to destroy earth” encompasses everything.

Genesis 9
11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

EMA: Happy Gregorian calendar new year to you too don.

Genesis 9:11 is clear that the assurance is that the earth will not to be destroyed “by a flood” of waters. But this present earth will be eventually destroyed. This earth’s destruction is by a heat so fervent the earth and everything in it will melt and “be burned up”.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

mexifan:  The end times or the coming of Christ’s age/aeon, is an astrological allegorical depiction of the end of the House of Pisces as we enter the Age of Aquarius?

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the Ten Commandments, he was very upset to see his people still worshiping a golden bull-calf. He saw that the people were still stuck in the traditions, the way of thinking, of the Age of Taurus the Bull, which was over.

Moses was the ‘Messiah’ for the incoming Age of Aries the Ram, and upon the arrival of the new age, everyone must shed the old age. That’s why Jews today still blow the Ram’s horn, which was a symbol of the Age of Aries.

Each New Age, it seems, has its ‘Messiah’. Jesus or Yeshua, (which was more likely his actual name) heralded the birthing of the Piscean age; the Age of Pisces the Two Fish. Fish symbolism is abundant in the New Testament. Jesus feeds 5000 people with bread and two fish. He befriends two fishermen, who follow him, and we see the Jesus-fish on the backs of people’s cars. Most of the drivers probably do not know that it is actually a Pagan astrological symbol for the Sun’s Kingdom during the Age of Pisces.

In Luke 22:10 when Jesus is asked by his disciples where the next ‘Passover’ will be, Jesus replied:

“Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you ‘bearing a pitcher of water’… follow him into the house where he entereth in.”

This scripture is clearly an astrological reference. The man ‘bearing a pitcher’ of water is Aquarius, the water-bearer, who is always shown as a man pouring out a pitcher of water. He represents the age after Pisces, and when the Sun (God’s Sun) leaves the Age of Pisces (Jesus/Yeshua), it will go into the House of Aquarius, as Aquarius follows Pisces in the precession of the equinoxes. Jesus is saying that after the Age of Pisces will come the Age of Aquarius. When we look back on this time in say twenty years, who I wonder will stand out as having been the New Messiah who brought in the Aquarian Age? It will be interesting to see….

The End Times

We have all heard about the end times and the end of the world. Apart from the occult depictions in the Book of Revelation, the main source of this idea comes from Matthew 28:20, where, in the King James Version, Jesus says “I will be with you even to the end of the world.”
However, ‘world’ is a mistranslation. The actual word being used is ‘aeon’, which means ‘age.’ “I will be with you even to the end of the age.” Which is true, as Jesus’ Solar Piscean personification will end when the Sun enters the Age of Aquarius.

Precession of the Equinoxes approx 2600 years.
2150 years = “Age”

The bible categorizes astrology as idolatry.

2 Kings 23:5 Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem, and those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.

The bible likewise shows that God will burn “the astrologers, the stargazers, And the monthly prognosticators”.

Isaiah 47:13 You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels;
Let now the astrologers, the stargazers,
And the monthly prognosticators
Stand up and save you
From what shall come upon you.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble,
The fire shall burn them;
They shall not deliver themselves
From the power of the flame;
It shall not be a coal to be warmed by,
Nor a fire to sit before!

mexifan:  I know that, Epi and yet we see a lot of men of the cloth who are into astrology and even ufology. In fact the Vatican owns some observatories.

Astrology is knowledge. It’s a shame that the bible is against it. Perhaps another explanation could be, that the writers of the Bible didn’t want people to know that its religion has it’s pagan roots in sun worship. Hence, the prohibition of Astrology?

It’s sounding like the Tower of Babel once again where humans are creating grand things, bettering themselves and the mighty god/s spoiling it for us. Enslavement instead of empowerment.

EMA:  Idolatry. It is not knowledge which is abhorred but man’s worship of, burning incense to, the objects.

Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen – (I Corinthians 1:10 & 27, 28)

EMA:  When Adam & Eve sinned and expelled from the Garden of Eden, they and their descendants were under Satan’s power. The people of this world are the slaves of Satan, the god of this age, who blinded them from the gospel of the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians 4:3 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

The people God is directing to the knowledge of the gospel of the kingdom are being freed from Satan’s enslavement. The members now comprising the Church have so been freed from such enslavement and are empowered to overcome the enslaving ways of this world and become the first persons to be worked on by God to become part of his kingdom. The rest of the people will have their calling at another time.

gospel is the good news of redemption to all who believe that Jesus Christ who offered himself to suffered and died for one’s sins…

1 Corinthians Chapter 15.1-4
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the KINGDOM OF GOD is within you.

You have some understanding which could grow. While the members of the Church who overcome would compose the changed to spirit beings under God and Christ in the kingdom of God, the Church is not yet the kingdom of God now. While Christ is now the anointed King of kings of the kingdom of God, that kingdom has yet to be set up on earth at Christ’s return after Satan is deposed and the overcomers changed to spirit as God is Spirit.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

You’re welcome friend.

Christians who do what Jesus commands should start or be used to calling each other “friends”. In humility I would like to point out that I haven’t heard other bible teachers teach about Christians addressing each other more as friends than as brothers. Christ has started the friendship way life. Christians who keep the commandments of God are Christ’s friends and Christians should be friends to each other. If Christ had started long ago to call his disciples then as his friends, obedient Christians should so do to one another.

John 15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

di ba bro epi kapag na born-again(Christians) ang isang tao ay maging new creation na xa dahil sa new spirit na binigay ng Dios through Christ sa isang tao kasi enaksip na nya as savior… so kung gamitin natin yung logic sa sinabi mo sa itaas under dominion na rin sa kingship of Christ in the kingdom of God ang mga believers…..

Upon receipt of the Holy Spirit a person becomes a Christian (Romans 8:9). The purpose of giving the person God’s spirit is for that person’s creation, which was stalled because of sin, to resume. The creation part in the whole process is the spiritual or Godly character or image building phase. In a sense, the Christian is a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The Holy Spirit gives the person his only opportunity to enter into the kingdom of God. As shown by the parables, there are Christians who do nothing and they forfeit the opportunity. Instead of entering the kingdom of God, they are slain. The kingdom of God is one which is composed of spirits. Eternal. A Christian, while having the guarantee of eternal life through the Holy Spirit in him, does not have yet the absolute eternal life. The Holy Spirit is merely its guarantee subject to the Christian’s doing his part in the “business”.

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

siguro bro epi hindi pa talaga na implement ang kingdom of God… basta ang importante sa mga believers ay patuloy maging obedience sa Dios at maging sangkapan para maglaganap ng salita ng Dios and the end will come in God’s time…..

The end will come when the true “gospel of the kingdom” shall have been “preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations”.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

C.hristians should do their part in the preaching of this gospel and be doing the “business” Christ told him to do and to be so doing when he comes.

Matthew 24:46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.

ang mga parables ay pahiwatig ng Dios kung ano ang katangian o what is like o kalagayan ng believers sa kingdom of God… kung baga itoy mga principle ng Dios kung ano ang isang tao na maging part sa kingdom of God…..

just my two cents………….

Thanks for your “two cents”. The parables show what the gospel of the kingdom of God is and what the Holy Spirit given person should be doing. And this is to take his one and only opportunity to enter God’s kingdom seriously.
